Assisi Spiritual Immersion Experience
Francis and Clare of Assisi were visionary leaders and authors of a profound “revolution of tenderness” that has much to offer us at this juncture of our history. Francis and Clare recovered a gospel-inspired simplicity in the face of bewildering and violent social changes.
They embody the heartfelt human desire to be faithful to what we sense to be holy, and they help us to honor the presence of God in creation and in simple forms of human encounter, especially with the marginalized.
Come experience the peace of Assisi in places of significance to them as we gain new insight into how to embrace what is most significant to us. Your week-long journey includes an initial orientation in Assisi at both Francis’ and Clare’s birth homes in the old city. We then spend reflective time at places of major impact to them: including the former leper colony at the church of La Maddalena and beautiful San Damiano. Our experience ends with several days at lovely Mt. La Verna, site of Francis’ stigmatization.
Your fee of $1800 includes hotel accommodations in the center of the medieval town (double occupancy), breakfast daily, five dinners in fine local restaurants, local transportation, and daily programming.
Single rooms are available at an extra cost of $500.
